My figurative acrylic paintings thrive on the ambivalence between oneiric lightness and brutality, often addressing pressing social and political issues. In the „About Meat“ series, for example, I focus on the consumption of animals and animal products. I am fascinated by the abysmal aspects of a subject. Aesthetic processes enable me to explore and articulate “the unsettling”.

In series of works, I explore a theme until I have covered all the relevant aspects that matter to me. My works are usually based on detailed sketches and/or my own photographs. The sketches are successively condensed and often digitally reworked. Pre-thinking the images and planning them in terms of color, form and composition are essential here. This artistic process results in thematically and formally stringent series of works. I live and work in Berlin.
